Domaine Gueguen

Céline and Frederic Gueguen founded their family estate in 2013, but have both worked for large Chablis domaines - Domaine Durup and Domaine Brocard - for the 15 years prior.

They are now based in the village Préhy, just 7 km south-west of the town of Chablis. Today, they have 23 hectares of vines. The estate is currently in conversion to organic viticulture, with hopes of being fully certified later this year.
Stylistically, Céline and Frederic prefer chiselled wines with purity and salinity, so eschew the use of oak in the ageing process. Following rigorous sorting, the fruit is slowly pressed and begins fermentation in stainless steel vats. There is no recipe as such here but all wines do go through lees contact and stirring. The wines are then transferred to tanks for ageing.

It is difficult to find such great value in Burgundy so we were tremendously excited to discover this domaine in 2020. Pure, mineral, fruity wines with excellent depth of flavour.
