Clos de Breuilly

Whilst this iteration of Clos de Breuilly is quite young - founded in 2018 - the estates' roots date back to 1880. This time around it is the collaboration of three friends William, Ambroise and Brian who took over the 8 hectare Clos in Saint-Pourçain and released their first vintage in 2020.

Important to this Clos is their situation; they benefit from their vines being planted on south-easterly facing slopes at about 350m above sea level. One of the partner in the domain, Brian, had been farming this land prior to this collaboration and had converted the estate to organic viticulture in 2006. Thanks to all of his work, the Clos also boasts vines that are aged between 20-70 years old. Brian planted a mixture of Gamay, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and indigenous Tressalier on terroir which comprises of sand, clay and gneiss from the ancient volcanic activity in the region.
